Dimitris varkas 

Dimitris is an actor, physical theatre performer, vocalist, acting teacher and movement trainer from Greece who has worked and toured internationally all over Europe, the UK, Georgia, Russia, China, Korea, Israel and the USA. He graduated with a BA from the School of Drama at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece, where he performed with various theatre groups including Piramatiki Skini tis Technis. Dimitris holds a MA in Acting from the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) in conjunction with the award winning and critically acclaimed Song of the Goat Theatre in Wroclaw, Poland. He joined the company in 2012 and has been a key collaborator in the development of “Portraits of the Cherry Orchard”, “Crazy God”, “Island”, “Hamlet – a Commentary” and most recently “Anty-Gone Triptych” where he performs the main part of Creon, after he researched and explored the soundscape of ancient Greek language and composed the melodic chants for the chorus in ancient Greek. He also performs in the theatre’s award winning performance, “Songs of Lear”. Since 2014, Dimitris has been leading workshops and masterclasses throughout the world. As of 2017, he teaches at the Bral School of Acting. In 2019 he collaborated with Ballhaus Naunynstrasse in Berlin and worked as a movement coach and physical trainer in the production “Splitter”.
